A Powerful and Proven Engine for Data Reconciliation by Material Balancing
Bilmat™ reconciles production data. It adjusts measurements according to a statistical model of measurement errors. It also estimates the most probable value of variables that are not measured. Following the reconciliation calculation, all the reconciled measurements and the estimated values of the non-measured variables strictly obey to a predetermined model, usually the mass conservation model. However, Bilmat™ accepts other models.
Bilmat™ also calculates the accuracy of its own results through the computation of the standard deviation of each reconciled or estimated value.
The Bilmat™ engine includes a complete suite of statistical tools that facilitate the analysis of measurements, the detection of gross errors and biases, and the quality evaluation of the calculated material balance.
The Bilmat™ engine is fully accessible from Excel workbooks, which are based on a template that is specific to Bilmat™. With more than 200 licenses in operation worldwide, Bilmat™ is used primarily to improve the quality of process variable values in metallurgical accounting systems, in process surveys, in process simulation projects, and for the daily evaluation of key performance indicators. It is also used for the design of efficient sampling strategies.
